 | MyEclipse 7.1 Blue Edition: Unleash Your WebSphere Investment |
Anonymous writes "Flower Mound, TX-- April 8, 2008 - Genuitec, LLC, the leading provider of the popular MyEclipse integrated development environment (IDE) and a founding and strategic member of the Eclipse Foundation, announced today the production release of MyEclipse 7.1 Blue Edition. This new release of the MyEclipse IDE tailored specifically for WebSphere, delivers the most comprehensive development environment for WebSphere 7.0 and enhanced version support for WSAD and RAD that allows users to migrate back and forth between MyEclipse and RAD project structures. This allows users of MyEclipse Blue to work with their existing projects and infrastructure without adding the pain of retooling or losing legacy code.
We know the difficulty in making the shift from something like RAD or WSAD to an IDE like Blue, said Wayne Parrott, vice president of product development for Genuitec. That's why we've focused on allowing users to make that shift, or to working dually with MyEclipse and RAD, as easy as possible for WebSphere users.
Most notable in this release is WSAD 5.1, RAD 6.x, RAD 7.x project enhancement support, including the new ability for WSAD/RAD users to enhance projects to fully work in both Blue and RAD. Users no longer have to move IDEs to be able to utilize both. Alternatively, those looking to migrate their projects (even something on the level of EARs with modules) completely over to MyEclipse Blue Edition now have the ability to do so by using one simple wizard in MyEclipse Blue 7.1. Enhanced projects are also fully supported by existing deployment and server tools.
We get a lot of requests for new features or enhancements to current tools in Blue said Riyad Kalla, product manager for Genuitec. We feel that the new project migration as well as upgraded JAX-RS support is a major upgrade that users can be very excited about.
MyEclipse 7.1 Blue Edition also includes new support for WebSphere 7.0 including: starting, stopping and managing server state from MyEclipse, exploded and packaged deployment support with running or stopped server instances, WebSphere 7.0 JAX-RPC generation and WebSphere 7.0 JAX-WS generation.
MyEclipse 7.1 Blue Edition is delivered on top of the Pulse Eclipse Management Platform, which allows users to efficiently customize and maintain their MyEclipse environments both at the individual and corporate level.
MyEclipse 7.1 Blue Edition is available at www.myeclipseide.com/blue.php and is available for a free trial. Subscriptions are $149 per year. Free trial users and those with current subscriptions receive all upgrades and full support at no charge.
About MyEclipse Blue Edition
MyEclipse Blue Edition is a tailored IDE built on the MyEclipse Professional Workbench platform. It offers users the familiarity of MyEclipse as well as its lightweight footprint while working seamlessly with WebSphere.
