Eliminate Fragile APIs in Java Apps

J2EEAnonymous writes "AUS (API Usage Scanner) is a J2EE tool that helps developers detect fragile APIs in Java applications to avoid binary compatibility and toleration problems. AUS, a pure Java utility, identifies references to APIs of one product by another product to create a set of detailed reports showing where references to the APIs are found and how those APIs are used. "

Note: A related tool is the "Eclipse API Scanner" that reports on mis-use of the Eclipse API. Very neat.

Build Web apps without Java/J2EE knowledge

J2EEAnonymous writes "The Ad hoc Development and Integration tool for End Users (ADIEU) allows end users to develop Web services and Web applications without any knowledge of Java or J2EE. The tool uses a form-based framework making use of "cards", which act like single-function applications. The data fields in cards can be used like cells in a spreadsheet and can contain either data or an expression that determines the data at run time. Cards can also run other cards; this capability provides the basic flow control necessary for programming concepts such as decision branching, sequences, and loops."
