Hi everybody,

I\'m trying to use PMI API to monitor performance of WebSphere App. Server 3.5 and it seems to work quite well (I have performance data in log files, not bad).

Some data about the environment: the system I\'m monitoring is a RS6000 running AIX 4.3.2 and WebSphere Application Server 3.5.5 and the performance monitoring client is running on a NT4 workstation. The client using PMI classes is a .bat file that sets up the environment and makes a java call using a class called wsstat.class (the same than the .bat file). I downloaded it from the WebSphere Developers Domain on IBM website and followed the recommendations exposed on article \"Using the Performance Monitoring Infrastructure with WebSphere 3.5.5+ application servers\".

Ok, my issue now is to gain knowledge about the performance counters I can get from it and their meaning, along with recommended thresholds for those values (what is ok and what is \"danger\").

It will be helpful and I will thank any help or information about these topics.

Thanks in advance. Kind regards.

Alvaro

The Resource Analyzer documentation has a list of all EPM counters and what they mean.... do you need more detailed info?

First of all, thanks for the quick answer.

I was able to find data about the meaning of the counters I get, but I still need to know about acceptable (or not) values for those counters (to know when am I getting into performance troubles).
